PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CLINIC DATE HAS CHANGED TO SATURDAY, JUNE 5TH.

Northwood University and United Way of Midland County are pleased to bring NFL player Chris Wilson to our community on Saturday June 5th from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. for a FREE football clinic. This exciting event will give boys and girls, ages 8 to 13, a chance to learn directly from this NFL standout. Joining Chris will be local Northwood players and a couple surprise local football greats as well.

Chris Wilson has strong ties to the Tri-city’s. He was born in Flint, Michigan and grew up on some rough inner-city streets, where he saw his share of violence and poverty. A high school standout, Wilson missed his opportunity to play Big 10 football because of a paperwork mistake in high school. Northwood University, in Midland, saw his potential and offered him a football scholarship. Wilson was named all-conference at Northwood and after graduating, was offered a position with the Canadian Football League. Wilson’s team won the CFL championship and he was soon drafted by Washington as a Defensive End. He now proudly wears the #95 Washington Redskins jersey.

A standout athlete, known for his incredible speed, Chris Wilson is a man who is committed to giving back to the communities who supported him through the years. Chris spends the off-season mentoring young children in the Tri-city area and strives to be a positive role model to young children each and every day. He continues to look for creative opportunities to give back to area kids.
